The kapsalon

The Markthal
A covered market in a building you cannot miss, with stalls from nearly every cuisine. Touristy, but the upper level and the edges deliver more than the main walkway.
Rotterdam South
Cape Verdean, Turkish, Surinamese and Moroccan, centred on Beijerlandselaan and the Afrikaanderwijk. Cheaper and often better than the city centre.
Herring without onion
Rotterdam takes it plain more often than Amsterdam. Not a rule, but a habit people hold to.
The new places
Katendrecht and the Deliplein were docks and are now full of restaurants. The shift took about fifteen years.
