The conditions: brewed within abbey walls, under the monks&#8217; supervision, with profits going to the community or to charity.<\/p>\n<p>The Netherlands has two: <strong>La Trappe<\/strong> at Berkel-Enschot and <strong>Zundert<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Abbey beer<\/h2>\n<p>Anything that refers to an abbey without meeting those conditions. Often good, but commercially brewed.<\/p>\n<h2>The numbers<\/h2>\n<p>Dubbel, tripel, quadrupel are strengths, not degrees.
